Flavia C400 vs Flavia C200 – MARS Machines That Really Are Out of This World
If men really are from MARS – then they’ve got it good – especially if living there comes with the added benefit of having a Flavia machine at hand! Alas, it’s not the case here – but anyone who has a Flavia really is lucky.
What a sleek-looking, futuristic machine, with touch screen and added features to boot. For me, what really stands out about this machine is the product used within. The Flavia range makes use of coffee pouches – which provides a superior, smoother and more aromatic taste than that of the pre-ground capsules which we have grown so accustomed to. The pouch is fitted with a material filter, through which the ground coffee is pressurised to make your favourite drinks. Flavia machines use Freshpacks (I call them pouches) produced by Alterra Coffee Roasters, The Bright Tea Company, and Dove Hot Chocolate.
The pouch is hygienic and easy to use; simply insert the nozzle into the panel at the front of the Flavia machine, clip closed and select the relevant drink option to be brewed from your machine.
Let’s not waste any more time. Coffee awaits!

Flavia C400 vs Flavia C200
So, the major difference between these two machines is their placement suitability. The C200 is suited to a small to medium sized office, and the C400 is better suited to a larger office. This is attributed largely to the capacity for freshpacks, and water tank size.
The aesthetic and user interface also vary between the two machines. The C400 has a much more modern aesthetic, with the LCD screen interface, graphic display and button selection.
The C200, however, has a far more basic user display, and (in my opinion) this is likely the cause for the considerable price difference between the two.
Both machines make use of the flavia pouch (freshpack) – so you won’t be losing out out product quality or output (both of these machines ale also single-cup machines); the fact that both the C400 and C200 are single-serve, is probably the only downfall of this machine.
